A delegation from the University of Kufa took part in the official launch ceremony of the third edition of the Study in Iraq program for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, who formally announced the program’s commencement and emphasized its vital role in enhancing academic and cultural exchange between Iraq and the global community.

The University of Kufa’s delegation included Professor Dr. Ammar Zwain, Head of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, officials from the “Study in Iraq” unit, and a group of international students accepted under the university’s scholarship program.

In his address, the Minister commended the continuous efforts of Iraqi higher education institutions in supporting and advancing the program, including the University of Kufa for its contributions in hosting and providing essential services to international students.

As part of new strategic directions, His Excellency Dr. Al-Aboudi announced the establishment of a “Study in Iraq” student association for international students, the designation of April 30 as International Student Day, and a stronger focus on hands-on training and the development of Arabic language programs for non-native speakers.

Media interviews were conducted with several international students, including those from the University of Kufa, who expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the provided services and facilitated procedures.

The event witnessed broad participation from representatives of international organizations, Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, and members of the Iraqi Parliament, reflecting the growing significance of the program at both national and international levels.
