Dr. Zainab Hussein Aliwi, a Professor at the Faculty of Education for Girls, University of Kufa, participated in the 2nd International Scientific Conference of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development, held by the University of Amman.
The conference focused on the role of national institutions in confronting environmental risks. Dr. Aliwi presented a research paper titled “Biological Activity Testing of Mint Varieties to Face Climate Change.”
The research aimed to improve the vegetative growth traits and increase the concentrations of active compounds in selected plant varieties, thereby overcoming some of the problems resulting from climate change.
The research results concluded that vegetative growth traits significantly increased, qualitative traits improved, and concentrations of active compounds increased in the leaves of cultivated plant varieties treated with organic and biological fertilizers.
