The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – University of Kufa organized a workshop, “Fundamentals of Swimming Instruction and Drowning Rescue Methods.”
It aimed to raise awareness about drowning risks and prevention strategies, review the latest scientific developments in international swimming regulations, and discuss modern trends in drowning rescue techniques.
Workshop Objectives:
-Educate participants on the dangers of swimming in unsupervised water bodies such as rivers and lakes.
-Present updates on international rules and regulations governing competitive swimming.
-Train attendees in advanced first-aid and drowning rescue methodologies.
It Recommendations:
The workshop warned against learning to swim in unsafe open-water environments and intensified awareness lectures and workshops in this field.
