The University of Kufa, the Islamic University, and Imam Al-Kadhim College (AS), in collaboration with the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, organized a scientific conference titled “Strategies for Peacebuilding in Countering Extremism and Terrorism” under the slogan “Combating Extremism and Building Peace is Everyone’s Responsibility.”
Presidents of Iraqi universities, religious figures, academics, and political personalities attended the conference.
It aimed to:
-Highlight the importance of promoting societal peace and national cohesion.
-Counter extremist and terrorist ideologies by activating the role of academic elites, educational institutions, and cultural bodies in raising awareness.
-Seek practical and sustainable solutions to conflicts and disputes threatening societal stability.
It included multiple dialogue and research sessions addressing key themes related to peacebuilding and countering extremism.
It concluded that continuing such scientific initiatives is necessary, as they serve as fundamental pillars for achieving development and peace.
