The Faculty of Science-University of Kufa held a seminar Natural Removal of Some Heavy Metals from Water Using Biogenic Charcoal Produced from Spirulina Algae.
It included The role of microalgae in the bioremediation of heavy metals, the mechanism of absorbing those metals and the factors that affect the removal efficiency.
It concluded that biochar could remove certain heavy metals that pollute water, and the use of modern techniques to biochar and magnetized biochar in the treatment of heavy metals.
