On the occasion of selecting of 1440 A.H to be the year of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa organized a seminar on” Evaluation of the reuse of sewage for irrigation purposes”. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Fatima Muhsin Kazaar, in which she evaluates the use of this heavy water for irrigation by comparing its characteristics with the Iraqi and Egyptian determinants. These can be used only to irrigate some kinds of plants such as shade trees and fodder plants such as camphor. Such plants have the ability to resist the relatively high concentrations of salts and minerals found in heavy water.
