The Faculty of Pharmacy -University of Kufa held a symposium on glycosides.
It aimed to assess the efficacy of cardiac glycosides in increasing cardiac contraction and treating congestive heart failure.
It included a discussion of the chemical structure of the most critical cardiac glycosides (digoxin), their mechanisms of action in treating congestive heart failure, drug interactions, and toxicity of this drug.
It discussed how to obtain highly effective treatments and reduce the compound’s side effects, prevent drug interactions of digoxin with other drugs, and prevent and treat digoxin toxicity.
